Job Details

• Schedule: 36/36 (36 hours on, 36 hours off)
• No call required; rotating weekends
• Floating between units required
• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Additional overtime shifts may be available and flexed as needed
• Expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care

Requirements

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• PCU experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Orientation

• General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning (CBL)
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation required

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Current, valid Tennessee RN license (Primary Source Verification required)
• AHA BLS certification (Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
• ACLS certification preferred (AHA only; Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred
• Other certifications as applicable: PALS, NRP, TNCC (preferred for ER, not required)
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as required
• Background check within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, education verification, and adult abuse registry check
• Drug screening: Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccination documentation
  • Varicella titer or vaccination documentation
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
• Respirator medical evaluation and fit testing completed onsite
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date

Additional Notes

• Must comply with facility-specific dress code, uniform guidelines, and safety policies
• Photo for badge required within 48 hours of contract signing
• Candidate must complete various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments related to safety, exposure, and policies
• References: Minimum 2 references preferred, 3 recommended
• Skills checklist required

This position offers a structured schedule with no call and rotating weekends, floating responsibilities, and opportunities to support nursing education. It is suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of experience, including first-time travel nurses.
