Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Job Description

• Provide respiratory care in acute care settings including ER and ICU
• Manage ventilators and oxygen therapy
• Perform airway management, respiratory treatments, and suctioning
• Utilize computerized documentation systems (EPIC required)
• Must have at least 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Kentucky
• Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Proficient in ventilator management, oxygen therapy, airway management, respiratory treatments, and suctioning

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification matching specialty (transcript or diploma acceptable if needed)
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
• Fit mask test annually (waivers available for medical or religious reasons)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap within 10 years
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or IgG titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or IgG titer)
  • Hepatitis B (surface antibody titer, series, or declination)
• TB testing: True 2-step PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot within 1 year, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references required (1 for non-clinical candidates)
• Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
• Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry clearance
• Photo for badge (headshot with solid light background)

Notes

• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is mandatory
• Candidate must be able to perform respiratory care duties in acute care environments including ER and ICU
• Respiratory fit test waiver available for failed fit tests with annual approval process
