Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- First-time travelers are accepted
- No prior travel experience required
Job Description & Physical Demands
- Active role requiring ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
- Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses
- Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year
- Rotating shifts, holidays, and inclement weather work required
- Must be able to:
- Work full contract term at assigned location
- Work substantial portion of assigned shifts
- Take call
- Work assigned weekends
- Work at least 50% of holidays during contract
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Background Requirements
- 7-year background check within 60 days of start
- E-Verify documentation required
- Drug screening (7 panel) within 60 days of start
- State-specific background checks and registries (Missouri FCSR, MO EDL, MO Caregiver Background Screening) within 60 days of start
- International background check if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, initiated within 48 hours of signing contract
- Fit mask test valid within 1 year (exceptions apply)
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or immunity (declinations no longer accepted for new candidates)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
Additional Requirements
- Photo for badge (new candidates only)
- Completion of facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., confidentiality agreement, employment eligibility)
- Resume with at least 7 years of employment history, no gaps over 30 days
- Two professional references within last 2 years
