Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Work Schedule

Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Guaranteed hours
Block scheduling accommodations available
No on-call required

Job Description

Primary role as Triage Nurse with opportunity to cross-train in clinical areas based on department needs
Float to other campuses and Emergency Department observation units within scope
Assigned primarily to one campus with possible rotation to others
Travelers will not be assigned to trauma/rescue rooms or locked behavioral health units

Patient Ratios

Average 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio for both day and night shifts

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Connecticut
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of walk-in/waiting room triage experience
At least 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
Trauma experience
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
