Job Description & Requirements

  • Weekday call: 1-2 days
  • Weekend call: Every 3-4 weekends

Required Qualifications

• Cath Lab Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT (American Registered Radiologic Technologist) certification
• Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (IDNS) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiography
• Cath Lab Technologist experience

Licensure & Certifications

• Must have valid state licensure as a Radiology Technologist in Illinois
• ACLS and BLS certifications must be AHA or RQI approved
• Radiology certifications must be current and verified within 30 days of start

Compliance & Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest degree completed
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Drug screening: 10-panel test within 30 days of start (no instant or dilute tests accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
• Fit mask test (3M Aura 1870+) within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Required immunizations and titers or documented immunity for:

  • Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive IgG titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Varicella (positive IgG titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series or positive titer (declinations accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or declination form
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes, with annual updates if applicable
• OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance required if fit test is failed

Additional Requirements

• Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry fingerprinting and eligibility verification required prior to start (must be completed in Illinois)
• Completion of facility-specific training modules and policy acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of sexual harassment training annually
• Submission of required documentation such as driver’s license/state ID, proof of name change (if applicable), and employment history covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days

Summary

This is a 12-week travel contract position for a Cath Lab Tech working day shifts with on-call and weekend responsibilities. Candidates must hold ARRT and IDNS certifications, have current BLS and ACLS, and preferably have at least 1 year of hospital medical imaging experience. Compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, and facility-specific training is mandatory. Illinois fingerprinting and healthcare worker registry eligibility are required before starting.
