Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Acute Care Hospital setting with 277 staffed beds
• Must have experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho due to trauma status
• May need to cover one night shift during the contract as needed
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Weekend work required
• On-call required: approximately 6-8 shifts every 6 weeks, including nights, evenings, and weekends (8-hour shifts)
• Floating between like units required
• Variable start times: 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM
• Block scheduling possible at manager’s discretion
• Free parking available
• Charting system: Epic

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience in neuro, neurology, vascular, vascular surgery, orthopedic, and ortho trauma specialties
• Weekend availability required
• Must be able to float to similar units

Certifications (as applicable)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - if required by unit
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, IV Certification, NIH Stroke, CPI, MAB) may be required based on unit needs and clinical track

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
• Immunizations/vaccinations or documented immunity required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer or declination)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer or declination)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (updated as needed)
• Respiratory Safety clearance (annual for travel)

Background and Compliance

• Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
• Education verification required for nursing degree (international education requires diploma/transcript)
• Employment application covering last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors)
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
• Work history verification required if reference exceptions are requested
• State-specific background checks and searches as applicable (e.g., Washington, Oregon)
• Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)

• Return to Origin (RTO) restrictions must be included at submission
• Float policy acknowledgment required; may float to other nearby facilities
• Annual mandatory regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS (Workramp)
• Epic training modules required and must be completed promptly after orientation
