Job Details

• Shift Options: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Experience: 3 years preferred
• Open to first-time travelers
• Float required
• Weekends as needed
• Patient Population: Stroke and Surgery patients
• Telemetry central monitoring tech available 24/7 (no dysrhythmia interpretation required)
• Scrub Color: Any color, no logos

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as applicable
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification (expires annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as applicable

Licensure & Verification

• Primary source online license verification required
• NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
• Education verification required (highest level of education)

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online exam required)
• Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
• Annual Core Testing for subcontractors

Background & Compliance Checks

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
• HHS/OIG check upon hire
• Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
• Transcript or diploma may be accepted temporarily if education verification is delayed

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (fit test done onsite)
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• TB questionnaire within 90 days of start (annual if positive)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (declinations not accepted)

• Clear headshot photo for badge
• Completion of employment application/resume
• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
• 7-year work history verification required
• References: Internal only; not required for clearance

Notes

• Fingerprints must be redone for every new contract
• Orientation and EPIC training can be attended pending fingerprint clearance, but no unit work until clearance is received
• Flu and COVID-19 exemptions require specific attestation forms and facility approval
• Behavioral Health RNs require APNA eLearning Center certification for restraint/seclusion assessment prior to start

This position offers a supportive environment welcoming first-time travel nurses and requires flexibility with floating and weekend shifts. The patient population includes stroke and surgery patients, with telemetry monitoring support available.
