Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Schedule & Work Details

• 36/36 or 36/48 schedule (choose appropriate for agreement)
• Every other weekend off
• No call required
• Floating to other units required
• Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Additional overtime shifts may be flexed based on hospital census/resource needs
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation required (general orientation begins Sundays with online CBLs)

Requirements

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers accepted

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in nursing specialty
• Actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical duties

Certifications & Licenses

• Required:

  • AHA BLS (Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
  • ACLS (verify unit-specific requirements)
  • State License primary source verification
  • NURSYS verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Preferred/As applicable:

  • PALS
  • NRP (required for ER; can be pending at start)
  • TNCC (highly preferred for ER)
  • National certification for surgical techs (if applicable)
• Annual acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual

Background Checks & Compliance

• Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Education verification required for all candidates
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check if licensed/certified in TN or working in TN

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by Aya)
• Fit mask testing completed onsite (previous fit tests from non-facility sources not accepted)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
• MMR titers (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) or documentation of vaccination/boosters
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
• Varicella titer or documentation of vaccination/boosters
• Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Sept 29 – Mar 31)

Facility Specific Documents & Policies

• Photo for badge required within 48 hours of contract signing
• Staff info form (time sensitive)
• Department-specific uniform guidelines and dress code must be reviewed
• Contaminated sharps and body fluid exposure statement must be completed
• Smoking and tobacco use policy review required
• Influenza policy review required
• Flu exemption and religious accommodation forms required if applicable
• Respirator medical evaluation questionnaire and clearance forms (time sensitive)
• CDC facial hair guidelines for respirator use must be reviewed

Competencies & Exams

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• General competency exam required

References & Skills

• 2 references accepted, 3 preferred
• Skills checklist required
