Position Details

Shift Information

• Shift: 3x12 Days (1845-0715)
• Weekend Requirement: Will work every other weekend
• Average Daily Census: 22 patients

Experience and Qualifications

• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• First-timers Accepted: No
• Active License: Must have an active Illinois license in hand to apply
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Skills and Experience Required

• Medical/Surgical Experience: Required
• Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response Skills: Telemetry, remote monitoring, use of Rapid Response Teams
• Gastrointestinal Skills: Colostomy care, feeding tube care and management
• Genitourinary/Renal Skills: Pre/Post Hemodialysis management, renal failure
• IV Therapy/Phlebotomy Skills: Blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs
• Medication Skills: Heparin, insulin, PCA
• Neurological/Psychiatric Skills: Spinal cord injuries, ortho trauma experience, experience with surgical drains
• Respiratory Skills: CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management
• Professional Knowledge: Isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac

Additional Information

• Floating: Will float to other units within scope as needed
• RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
• Local Candidates: Accepted with no radius restrictions
• Parking: Parking permit required, no cost

Required Documentation

• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within a year of start)
• Vaccination Records (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, etc.)
• Background Check (within 30 days of start)
• Education Verification (initial degree verification required)
