Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: Mesquite, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery
• Shift: Night shift, 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM
• Hours: Guaranteed 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
• Patient Population: Includes COVID-19 patients
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrubs: Navy or Royal Blue

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid RN License
• BSN degree preferred
• Certifications required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
• Experience with postpartum and vaginal examinations is a plus

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: RN Labor and Delivery
• Required Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1+ years typical for specialty

Additional Requirements for Onboarding

• Must pass Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%)
• Must pass Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)
• Must pass Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
• Drug screening (minimum 10-panel test including THC) within 60 days of start
• Annual fit test for respirator mask
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses + booster or declination)
  • MMR (proof of immunity)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination (declinations not accepted in some locations)
  • Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
  • TB test within one year of start date
  • Varicella vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Tdap vaccine (declinations not accepted in some locations)
• National criminal background check within one year of start date (state-specific timing requirements apply)
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
• Driver’s license, State ID, or Passport required

Preferred Skills

• Postpartum and vaginal examination experience
• Intermediate fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring)
