Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry I

Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 4 weeks

Job Requirements

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) – required at submission
  • ACLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) – required at submission
  • Valid nursing license verified through Nursys within 30 days of start
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years recent med/surg experience
  • Epic electronic health record experience within the last year
• Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Uniform:

  • Solid black scrubs required
• Other:

  • Float required
  • Return to Office (RTO) form due at submission (max 7 days allowed)
  • No block schedule preferences accepted

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Immunizations & Health:

  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Fully vaccinated required prior to start (medical/religious exemptions case-by-case)
  • MMR: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B: Titer or complete vaccine series; signed declinations accepted
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required October-April; medical/religious exemptions require agency approval
  • Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted
  • Tdap: Within 10 years; no declinations accepted
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Negative results required; no declinations accepted
  • Annual TB Questionnaire: Must be completed on facility form
  • Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and completed TB questionnaire
• Drug Screening:

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Background Checks & Verifications:

  • Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search plus SSN trace, nationwide checks) within 90 days of start
  • OIG, EPLS, and Education verifications within 90 days of start
  • Social Security card or number required
  • License/certification primary source verification within 30 days of start
• Health & Safety:

  • Fit test for N95 respirators within 1 year, updated annually
  • Pre-employment physical within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
  • Valid government-issued photo ID required
• Competency & Skills Testing:

  • Unit-specific competency exam (passing score required)
  • Unit-specific skills checklist completed annually
  • EKG and Telemetry exams with passing score of 80%+ within 1 year
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics within 90 days, updated annually

Submission Requirements

• Complete RN Submission Packet checklist with signatures from candidate and agency
• Include BLS and ACLS certifications at submission
• Include Epic experience on resume
• Return to Office (RTO) form with no more than 7 days requested
