X-Ray Technologist Position - Akron, Ohio

Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Licensed as a Radiographer by the State of Ohio.

Experience & Training

• Successful completion of training to perform additional radiology procedures (e.g., select CT procedures).

Skills & Competencies

• Effective communication with patients, physicians, and hospital staff.
• Ability to calibrate and operate radiology equipment.
• Proper patient positioning and application/adjustment of restraining devices.
• Ability to lift and position patients.
• CPR certification and ability to initiate CPR.
• Proficiency with hospital and radiology computer systems and filing.
• Competency in interacting respectfully and effectively with diverse patient populations.

Required Certifications & Licenses for Submission

• ARRT Certification.
• BLS (AHA only; AHA RQI acceptable).
• License/Certificate Verification (state-specific registry; must be verified within 30 days prior to start).
• Resume including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care in a similar area.

Onboarding Requirements (Must be current or completed prior to start)

• MMR: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted.
• Fit Test: Required for all patient-facing roles; must be within 1 year and updated annually.
• Hepatitis B: Titer or proof of complete 3-series vaccination; signed declinations accepted.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required September through April; medical/religious exemptions considered case-by-case.
• Health Statement: Pre-employment physical within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
• 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Negative results required; no declinations accepted.
• Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted.
• Annual TB Questionnaire: Must be completed, signed, and dated on facility-specific form.
• Summa Competency Exam: Unit-specific competency exam with passing score; updated annually.
• Summa Skills Checklist: Unit-specific clinical skills checklist; updated annually.
• Summa Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; updated annually.
• Drug Screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; updated annually.
• Criminal Background Check: FCRA compliant 7-year search plus SSN trace and nationwide checks; must be within 90 days of start.
• OIG Search: Must be run within 90 days of start.
• EPLS Search: Must be run within 90 days of start.
• Social Security Card: Must be provided.
• Work Order Confirmation: Required upon offer acceptance.
• Education Verification.

Optional / Additional Information

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Fully vaccinated required prior to start; medical/religious exemptions reviewed case-by-case.
• Tdap: Within 10 years of start; no declinations accepted.
• Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray: If applicable, chest x-ray within 1 year of start plus TB questionnaire.
• Fingerprint Clearance Attestation: Ohio FBI and BCI fingerprint attestations required within 12 months of start; can start with results pending but must upload promptly.

This position requires a highly qualified and credentialed X-Ray Technologist with current certifications and compliance with all health and safety protocols.
