Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technician

Location: Evanston, Illinois
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, weekends required
Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients
Prepare and position patients; select anatomic and technical parameters accurately
Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice and regulations
Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity
Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as needed
Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines
Perform specialized imaging procedures including angiography, complex vascular, nonvascular interventional, and therapeutic procedures
Assist Radiologist/PA during procedures
Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards

Required Licensure / Certification / Registration

BLS Provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
Cardiographic Tech credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) prior to hire or transfer
Radiologic Technologist credential from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) prior to hire or transfer (any specialty accepted)
Radiologic Technologist licensure issued by Illinois Emergency Management Agency combined with ARRT credential
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CCI) preferred

Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalency with 1-2 years cumulative experience OR
Associate's degree/Technical degree OR
4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport required for onboarding
Drug Screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC, within 60 days of start
Color-blind test (annual)
COVID-19 Vaccine: 2 doses plus booster or declination completed
MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer showing immunity
Annual Respirator Fit Test (must be completed prior to start for Illinois region)
Hepatitis B vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
Influenza vaccine or declination (required October 1 – May 31)
TB Test and Annual TB Questionnaire
Varicella vaccination or titer showing immunity
Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
Physical/Health Statement annually, must state clear to work
National Criminal Background Check within one year of start date (with some state-specific exceptions)
Social Security Card or Passport
Badge photo (clear headshot, JPEG format)
Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
Completion of required exams: Core Competencies Exam and Specialty Exam (minimum 80% score)
Prime Skills Checklist and other agency-specific attestations and documentation

Additional Notes

All activities must comply with regulatory agency standards and facility policies
Education and onboarding attestations must be completed prior to clearance to start
Some certifications and training can be completed through approved online platforms or resources
