Job Description

This position is a replacement role for a current traveler being offboarded. The role requires a Certified Surgical Technician to support surgical services.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience.
• Recent experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist within the last year.
• Certification from CST, NBSTSA, TS-C, or NCCT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Non-expired government-issued photo ID (Driver's License or State ID).
• COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required (medical or religious exemptions accepted).
• MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years required; booster protocol applies if low titer.
• Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years required; booster protocol applies if low titer.
• Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years (no declinations accepted).
• Hepatitis B: Proof of full series or partial series with signed declination accepted; positive titers within 15 years accepted.
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (October-March) or must complete specific masking and declination forms.
• Tuberculosis testing: 2-Step PPD or IGRA test with negative results within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest X-ray and current TB questionnaire required.
• Fit Test for respirators completed within 1 year prior to start.
• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions.
• Criminal background check within 6 months prior to start, including Social Security trace, county searches, national sex offender registry.
• Ohio fingerprinting and FBI background checks as applicable based on residency duration.
• Employment verification for the last 5 years.
• Education verification (including equivalency for international education).
• Social Security trace and other federal exclusion checks (OIG, SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC) within 6 months prior to start.
• Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted).
• Completion of a skills checklist specific to the clinical area within 1 year prior to start.
• Competency exam with a minimum score of 80% within 1 year prior to start.
• Core competencies including HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission topics completed within 1 year prior to start.
• Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance; renewal annually.
• Submission packet must include resume, two professional references (within last 2 years), job application, and employment history form.
• Badge photo (headshot, shoulders up, plain background) required prior to start.
