Position Details

Job Description / Responsibilities

• ACLS certified skills required
• Pushing, pulling, lifting patients and equipment
• Medication administration
• Patient assessments
• Care planning
• Effective communication and teamwork

Required Certifications & Training

• BLS (AHA American Heart Association)
• ACLS (AHA American Heart Association)
• 8 Hours of Stroke Training (includes NHISS training)
• Arnot Core Competency Exam: Must score 80% or higher on Core Comp I, II, and III for RNs
• Arnot Skills Checklist: Must be completed for the unit assigned and updated annually

Licenses & Verification

• State Nursing License: Verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Driver’s License or State ID: Valid, unexpired US driver’s license or ID required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Optional; proof of vaccine or declination required
• MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; titers must show results for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella individually
• Fit Test: Must be completed within the last 12 months; specific approved mask models required
• Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or specific declination form required
• Influenza Vaccine: Required or specific declination form; mask must be worn if declined
• TB Test: Annual requirement; acceptable tests include 2 PPDs (one within 12 months, one within 3 months) or 1 Quant/Spot within 12 months; follow-up may be required for past positives
• Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required
• Tdap: Preferred but not required; within last 10 years or declination form
• Physical/Health Statement: Must be from within the last 12 months, including vitals, height, weight, Snellen eye chart, and physician’s statement of clearance with no restrictions

Background & Screening Requirements

• Agency Background Check: Must be run within 30 days of start; includes SSN address trace, county and national criminal checks, FACIS 3 check
• Agency Drug Screen: Must be run within 30 days of start; specific drug panel required (marijuana testing prohibited per NY state)
• 7 Instant Background Checks: Includes multiple federal and state exclusion and sanction lists
• Arnot Internal Background Check: Must be initiated upon acceptance with full disclosure of any charges or convictions

Documentation & Professional Requirements

• Resume: Complete employment and education history for last 7 years, with dates in MM/YY format
• Professional References: Two required (one supervisor within last 12 months, one supervisor or peer within last 3 years)
• Employment Verification: Verification of most recent employer required
• Job Description: Signed and dated acknowledgment required
• Color Headshot: Recent, professional photo required

This position requires a highly qualified RN with specific certifications, immunizations, and compliance with detailed onboarding and background screening processes. The role involves night shifts with a 7:1 patient ratio in a step-down unit setting.
