Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN)

Location

  • City: Springfield, Illinois
  • Facility: Springfield Memorial Hospital
  • Hospital System: Hereford Regional Medical Center

Employment Details

  • Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 3x12 Nights (1845-0715)
  • Weekend Requirement: Will work every other weekend; additional weekend may be scheduled to make up for time off.

Qualifications

  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Active License: Must have an active Illinois RN license in hand to apply.
  • Special Requirements:
    • Experience with PICC line management and starting IVs is required.
    • Willingness to take trach and laryngectomy patients (experience not required but must be willing to learn).
    • Must be willing to take up to a 1:7 patient ratio if needed (not common).

  • Parking: Parking permit required, no cost.

Additional Information

  • Floating: Will float as needed within scope to meet facility needs.
  • RTO Restrictions: Requests for time off will be reviewed based on unit's schedule; only one winter holiday off can be requested.
  • Local Candidates: Accepted with no radius restrictions.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Required within a year of start.
  • Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen required within 30 days of start.
  • Vaccinations: Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required.
  • Background Check: Required within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.

  • Valid/current US Driver’s license or ID
  • HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • NURSYS Verification
  • TB Questionnaire
  • Vaccination records for MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, etc.
