Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
Work Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Shift Hours: 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM

Job Description
- This is a travel assignment covering maternity leave until approximately 8/28.
- Work schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week.
- Pediatric ultrasound experience is highly preferred.
- Vascular ultrasound experience is a plus but not required.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be AHA or ARC certified; RQI accepted. Certification cannot expire within 30 days of start.
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography): Required.
- Other certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., ACLS, PALS), but BLS and ARDMS are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Ultrasound Technologist with at least 1 year of experience.
- Recent ultrasound technologist experience within the last year.
- Current BLS certification.
Compliance & Testing
- Completion of online orientation modules within 72 hours of assignment.
- Pre-assignment testing (medication and EKG/arrhythmia tests) must be completed within 72 hours of receiving login information; two attempts allowed.
- Pass/fail testing for medication and arrhythmia required for RNs (not applicable for this role but noted for reference).
- Annual competency exams and core training modules required.
- Badge photo submission required prior to start.
Additional Information
- Candidates must carry valid ID and driver’s license on duty.
- Background checks and various federal/state sanction screenings are required and must be current.
- Fingerprinting may be required if candidate has lived/worked in certain states (e.g., West Virginia) within the last 7 years.
- Candidates must comply with facility-specific policies such as floating policy and contractor acknowledgment.
- Pediatric experience is highly preferred; vascular experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
