MRI Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations under general supervision following established protocols for physician interpretation.
• May float between two outpatient clinic locations.
• Shift options:

  • Monday to Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (12:30 PM - 9:00 PM)
  • Possible alternative shifts: 4x10-hour (10:30 AM - 9:00 PM) or 3x12-hour (8:30 AM - 9:00 PM)
• Weekend requirement: Saturdays 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• No call requirement.

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Current BLS certification.
• ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions.
• Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required).
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination (declination accepted for Mumps and Rubella only).
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination.
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination, documented history, or declination.
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 90 days prior to start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (August 1 - March 31).
• COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated.
• Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed within 5 days of start.
• Photo for badge required prior to start (color, frontal view, solid background).

Work Environment & Additional Information

• Facility type: Outpatient clinic.
• Dress code: Teal scrub top and black pants.
• Charting system: Epic.
• Parking: No cost.
• Radius rule: 60 miles.
• Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
• During hurricane season (June-November), employees may be assigned to emergency response teams; new or extension assignments during this period should be considered carefully.

Summary

This MRI Tech travel contract requires a minimum of 2 years MRI experience with ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification and BLS. The role involves performing a variety of MRI exams on Siemens equipment in an outpatient setting with a fixed weekday evening shift plus Saturday coverage. Compliance with extensive health, safety, and documentation requirements is mandatory. Prior travel experience is not required.
