Oncology RN Travel Contract
Location
- Columbus, Ohio
Schedule
- Night shift, 3x12 hours
- 36 hours per week
Contract Length
- 16 weeks
Role Overview
- Adult and geriatric acute leukemia and hematology nursing
- Primary patient population: newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
- Staffing goal is 1:4, with assignments up to 1:5
- Variable weekends based on unit needs
- Heavy focus on infection prevention and fall prevention
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- BLS
- ACLS
- Ohio RN license
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Preferred Qualifications
- ONS Chemo Cert
- NIHSS
Required Skills
- MS/Tele
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Rapid response team use
- Feeding tube care and management
- IV therapy and phlebotomy
- Blood product administration
- Central line blood draw
- Peripheral line care and management
- PICC line management
- Starting IVs
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers will be screened for client review
- No chemo certification required
- EPIC charting is used

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
