Pediatric CVOR Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Pediatric Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CVOR)
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Pediatric experience required
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate and maintain patient safety in the operating room
- Assist during cardiopulmonary bypass procedures
- Facilitate and maintain appropriate surgical time-outs
Preferred Experience
- Cardiothoracic surgery (CT)
- Scrubbing in cardiothoracic procedures
- Experience with cardiopulmonary bypass and specialized cardiac trays/OR equipment
Call Requirements
- 1–2 call days per week
- Two 48-hour weekend call shifts every 8 weeks
- Required response time: 30 minutes
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CVOR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Pediatric patient care experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association
Scheduling & Time-Off Guidelines
- Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; late requests will not be honored
- Maximum of 5 RTO days allowed during assignment
- No block scheduling allowed except for weekend-only requests (Friday–Sunday)
Additional Notes
- Previous employees of this facility are not eligible for contract positions until 1 year after termination
- Fingerprinting and background check will be completed onsite on the first day
- Facility is latex-free; disclosure of latex allergy/sensitivity on physical exam is acceptable without additional approval
- Mandatory surgical masks provided and must be worn for patient-facing roles
This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with complex congenital heart disease cases in a specialized pediatric cardiothoracic surgery environment.
