Job Opportunity: Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse
Location: Portland, Oregon

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Unit: Cardiac Intermediate Care (IMC)
- Float: May float within scope to Acute Care/IMC as needed
- Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per month
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License: Accepted if application is submitted and received by licensing board (qualifies for 90-day license exemption)
- On-Call: Not required
- Block Schedule: Accommodation not guaranteed
Clinical Focus & Patient Population
- Cardiology: Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), NSTEMI, Heart Failure management, pre/post cardiac catheterization, arrhythmia management
- Electrophysiology Services (EPS): Pacemaker placement, arrhythmia management
- Cardiac Surgery: CABG, valve replacement, TAVR
- Vascular Surgery: Amputations, femoral-popliteal bypass
- Advanced Heart Failure: Pre/post heart transplant, Ventricular Assist Device (VAD), inotrope support
- Provider coverage includes 24/7 on-call providers and often in-house providers
- Special equipment includes safe patient mobilization tools such as ceiling lifts
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association provider)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Facility & Orientation Information
- Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care, Magnet recognized, Teaching hospital, Level I Trauma Center
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: $16 daily pass (8 AM – 5 PM); public transportation encouraged
- Professional Appearance Policy: Must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Orientation: Completion of required online Compass modules prior to start (includes privacy, harassment prevention, and unit-specific training)
- Medication Override Test and Account Setup Guides provided for orientation
- Respirator clearance and fit testing required; onsite fit testing available if agency cannot provide prior to start
- Compliance: Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up to start date
Time Off (RTO) Policy
- Maximum of 5 RTO days approved for 13-week contracts
- Requests for more than 5 days require adding time to the end of the contract
- All time off requests must be submitted at contract start
Additional Notes
- No on-call required
- Floating within scope to Acute Care/IMC units may be necessary
- Candidates must complete all required background checks and health screenings before start
- Candidates must sign facility-specific documents including job description, professional appearance policy, coronavirus protocol attestation, and vaccine declination/waiver if applicable
