Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Endoscopy)
  • Shift: Day shift, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (5 days a week, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Procedure suite: 1:1
    • Pre-op and Discharge: up to 4:1
  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
  • On-call: Yes
  • Floating: May float within scope to like units or sister facilities, but highly unlikely
  • Travel Radius: Must stay within 30 minutes of the facility to respond to calls as expected

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license must be active and in hand prior to start
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross accepted
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only
  • First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License and Social Security Card
  • Completed and accurate I-9 form with work eligibility attestation
  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including:
    • SSN Trace
    • County, state, national criminal checks
    • Sex offender registry
    • OFAC, FACIS 3, employment and education verification
  • Primary source verification of RN license (NURSYS verification required)
  • Education verification or diploma/transcript as placeholder
  • Proof of 2 clinical references, including at least one from the unit of assignment
  • Complete employment application/resume with no unexplained gaps
  • Annual skills checklist for the applicable unit
  • Facility-specific job description signed prior to start
  • Facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 2 hours) must be completed before orientation
  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge (frontal view, solid light background)
  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, updated annually, confirming ability to meet job demands without restrictions
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Respirator medical clearance annually via RespSafety questionnaire
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
    • Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
    • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31) with documentation uploaded before deadline
  • COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form

  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; guaranteed hours are not absolute
  • Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
  • Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • During hurricane season (June–November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; avoid new or extended assignments during this period if this is a concern
