Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Lacey, Washington
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation
Setting: K-8 School Environment (Float Pool)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 22 weeks (interpreted as weeks)
Contract Dates: ASAP through 6/17/2026
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8 hours/day with 30-minute unpaid lunch (37.5 billable hours/week)
Requirements
- Valid Washington State Occupational Therapist (OT) license
- Experience working with K-8 student population
Certifications & Licenses
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC) required for RNs and LVNs
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) may be required
- State License verification required, including Washington Certified Behavioral Tech Credential (WA CBT) for RBTs if applicable
- Educational Services State Teaching Certificate and Credential verification as applicable
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) preferred but not required for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs)
- Annual update of Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
- FERPA training and acknowledgment required annually for Educational Services candidates
Background & Compliance Checks
- Criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually, including multiple searches (SS Trace, Federal, Nationwide, County, Sex Offender) for last 7 years of residence/work/school
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required annually
- Washington State Patrol (WSP/WATCH) search required within 12 months of start
- Fingerprint clearance through Washington OSPI required; candidates must complete fingerprinting per OSPI instructions
- Mandatory Reporter Training required (annual renewal)
- High school diploma or equivalent required for paraprofessionals, plus one of the following: qualifying paraeducator assessment score, associate degree or higher, or specific college credits
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of Responsible Use and Access Request forms annually
- Compliance with school district policies and procedures
Health & Safety
- Physical exam, TB testing, immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella), and drug testing only required if specified by client or state
- Flu vaccination documentation may be required depending on client needs
- COVID-19 vaccination not required unless specified by client or state
Additional Notes
- Employment application, references, and skills checklists may be required depending on client
- Some certifications and verifications must be uploaded and re-verified 30 days prior to start
- Candidates must follow all state and facility-specific compliance and documentation requirements
