    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card (can be completed onsite)
    • State License Verification within 30 days of start
    • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 30 days of start
    • NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
    • Certification for First Assist RNs (if applicable)
    • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for relevant units (e.g., Cardiac Tele, Cath Lab, ICU, ER)
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit/special procedures

Work Schedule & Duties

  • 36 or 40 hours per week contracts available
  • Call required 1 week out of every 8-10 weeks depending on staffing needs
  • Duties include:
    • Accurately and efficiently treating patients according to physician prescriptions
    • Ensuring safety of patients and staff
    • Recording daily patient treatments timely and accurately
    • Performing daily QA and warmup on treatment machines
  • Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Background checks required within 1 year and updated annually, including:
    • County Criminal Background Search (last 7 years)
    • National Criminal and Sex Offender Search
    • FACIS III
    • Education Verification (official transcript or diploma acceptable)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and annually
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific drug panels required)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually (must state good health and no physical limitations)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
  • Immunizations and health documents required and must be current:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual renewal)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or boosters
    • Hepatitis B immunity or declination (annual renewal)
    • Varicella immunity or booster
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (updated annually)
    • COVID vaccination series or approved exemption (updated annually)
  • References: Two references required, verified within 6 months of start (manager or supervisor preferred)
  • Employment application must explain any gaps longer than 30 days
  • Work history verification for last 7 years required

Competency Exams & Skills Checklists

  • Must complete required competency exams within 1 year of start and renew annually, including but not limited to:
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
    • Color Blind Testing
    • Unit Specific Competency Exams (may require multiple)
    • Core Parts I, II, III
    • Conscious Sedation Competency Exam
    • RN Math Ability Competency Exam
  • Skills checklists must be completed and updated annually; multiple checklists may be required depending on specialty/unit

  • Candidates must have a renewal plan in place for any certification or document expiring during the contract
  • Pass/Fail EKG exam required for certain units; travelers have only two attempts before cancellation
