Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg specialty
• No prior travel experience required (1st time travelers accepted)

Work Environment & Duties

• Primary assignment in Emergency Department (ED)
• May float to Med/Surg unit for boarders if needed
• No on-call requirements

Certifications Required

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for ER; AHA only, front and back with signature
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required for RNs in ER, NICU, PICU, Pediatrics; AHA only
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for L&D, Nursery, NICU, Mother/Baby
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required for ER RNs
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - Required for L&D; AWHONN Intermediate level
• Other certifications as applicable based on unit assignment

Background & Verification Requirements

• I-9 with supporting documentation
• Valid government-issued photo ID matching all documentation
• Criminal background check within 6 months of start (7-year county/state/sex offender search)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• State-specific exclusion/adverse action searches every 6 months while on assignment
• Verification of licensure and NURSYS verification within 30 days prior to start
• Employment verifications for last 10 years, minimum 2 verifications required
• 2 supervisor-level references required, at least one within the last year

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by MD, NP, or PA
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination or declination (valid for 10 years)
• Negative TB test (TSPOT) within 30 days of start or clear chest x-ray if prior positive TB history
• TB questionnaire required for all travelers
• Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completion, positive titer, or declination within last year
• Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Annual flu vaccination or declination (October 1 - March 31)

Competency & Skills

• Must pass medication/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80%)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for Tele, Stepdown, PCU, ICU, ER (minimum 80%)
• Core training parts I, II, III and OSHA mandatory training (minimum 80%)
• Skills checklist current within last year and updated annually
• Documentation of in-service training and orientation safety manual acknowledgment required

• Resume must include last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• EMR experience should be included in application materials
