Job Opportunity: MS/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: MS/Tele RN (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
  • Start Dates: March 9 and March 23 (March 9 starts prioritized)
  • Schedule: No blocked schedule requests
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4
  • Scrubs Color: Royal Blue
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly
  • Flu Vaccination: Required, no exemptions or declinations accepted

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in MS/Telemetry
  • Also accepting RNs with Emergency Department (ED) or Clinical Evaluation Unit backgrounds
  • EPIC charting experience required

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only

Preferred Certifications

  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Training provided onsite if not already certified

Licensure

  • Must have a current North Carolina RN license or a Compact RN license

Work Environment & Additional Details

  • Local candidates within 75 miles considered at a local rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome
  • Local candidates are also eligible
  • Flu vaccines are mandatory with no exemptions allowed

Required Qualifications & Compliance

  • Must pass background checks including SSN trace, county checks for past 7 years, sex offender, and other applicable searches

  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start

  • Required immunizations and health documents:

    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap every 10 years
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers (no exemptions)
    • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination (required for new candidates starting October through March)
    • Polio vaccine or signed attestation
  • Must complete required facility-specific online modules prior to orientation

  • Must set up a facility guest account prior to clearance

  • Must provide 2 professional references from employment within the last 12 months (at least one supervisor)

  • Skills checklist and employment application required and must be current
