Job Details

• Unit: ICU (Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Unit)
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years
• First-time Travelers: Not accepted
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: Yes, within ICU service line
• Block Schedule Accommodation: No

• Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days
• Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks (cancelled shifts must be regular shift length)
• Shift Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week

• Central line and PICC line care/management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Continuous IV sedation
• Emergency medication administration
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• CVA/Acute Stroke management
• BiPAP assistance
• Care of ventilated patients and ventilator management
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Respiratory failure management
• Suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions (PPE use)
• Phlebotomy
• Surgical wound care including drains and wound vac

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required
• Professional license primary source verification (Missouri licenses via NURSYS)
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing required annually (N95 models specified)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray with yearly questionnaire
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (vaccines, titers, or exemptions with restrictions)
  • Hepatitis B declination required (not vaccination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, unit-specific, and dysrhythmia/EKG competency (annual updates)
• Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year of start
• References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
• Employment application required
• Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, dress code policies, and orientation modules (approx. 16 hours) must be completed prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced ICU Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of specialty experience who are comfortable managing complex critical care patients and working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
