Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology
• Shift: 5x8 hour day shifts
• Start Date: ASAP (3/3 or 3/17 start)
• Call Requirements:

  • Call required every other weekend (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 8:00 AM)
  • Call-in time is a hard stop of 15 minutes prior
  • Must live within 15 minutes of the facility
  • On-call shifts are encouraged but not mandatory
• Floating:

  • Must be able to float to PACU/Recovery if needed
  • May float to IR at a nearby hospital (rare)
• Patient Age Group: Pediatrics through Geriatrics
• Staffing Ratio: 1:1
• Average Procedures per Nurse per Day: 3-10
• Number of Angiography Suites: One
• Nursing Roles in Procedure Room: Usually 2 nurses per room, sharing sedation and circulation responsibilities
• Common Procedures: Trauma cases and standard IR procedures (no Neuro IR)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Interventional Radiology, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• TNCC certification
• Experience working with Pediatrics patients
• Experience working with Geriatrics patients
• Skilled in Conscious Sedation

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID and Driver’s License/State ID
• I9 or Attestation
• Emergency Contact Form
• E-Verify or attestation
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and California Medi-Cal Search (within 30 days prior to start)
• Physical Exam (within 1 year and updated annually)
• Drug Screening: 10 Panel Drug Screen (within 1 year and updated annually)
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (Titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (Positive titer or 3-dose vaccine series)
  • Varicella (Titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or approved exemption (mask required if exempt)
  • COVID vaccination required (declinations accepted)
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months, with additional requirements for positive or allergy cases)
• Fit Mask testing (annual)
• Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, handbook acknowledgment, RN competencies, and orientation attestations
• Advanced EKG exam (passing score 80%, 78% for Peds/PICU) with remediation process if needed
• Annual trauma education or current trauma certification (TNCC or TCAR)
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams (80% passing score)
• Age-specific competency exams (updated annually)

Additional Information

• Cross-training opportunities available for PACU if interested
• Facility encourages picking up additional call shifts when possible
• Must be able to respond quickly for call shifts (15-minute response time)
