Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Requires floating to various units including NICU, PICU, Emergency Department, Stepdown, and Medical-Surgical as needed.
• Must be willing to comply with float expectations and will be assigned appropriately.
• Prefers close to 2 years of nursing experience.
• Requires 2 supervisory references, with at least one from a supervisor or manager.
• Floating is a mandatory part of the role.

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Ohio State or Compact RN license required.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required for NICU nurses.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred.
• Annual N95 fit testing required.
• Required immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine (or approved exemption).
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as per protocol.
  • Drug screening within 60 days prior to start.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination.

Required Background and Compliance

• Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked).
• Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent.
• Fingerprinting (BCI/FBI) required within 60 days of start.
• Various state-specific registry checks (Nurse Aide, Inmate, Medicaid Exemption, Abuse Registry).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
• Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
• Affiliating Health Record completion required.
• Infection Control Policy review and acknowledgment required.

Additional Requirements

• Must have a professional resume or employment application on file.
• Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
• Must provide 2 professional references (peer references not accepted).
• Floating to multiple units is required.
• Must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements.

Experience

• Preferred: Approximately 2 years of nursing experience.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
