Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 36 hours per week, every other weekend and holidays

Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist with experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience is preferred but not required. First-time travelers are accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• NICU experience preferred

Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holidays

Additional Requirements

• Must comply with background checks including social security trace, nationwide checks, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions
• Required health documents include:

  • Physical exam within 12 months
  • Immunizations: Tdap, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per current guidelines
  • Annual flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination
• Drug screening within 30 days of start date
• Competency exams and annual updates required (medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, core competencies)
• Must adhere to employee appearance policy

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required
• Blue scrubs dress code
