Job Details
- Shift: Three 12.5-hour weekend overnight shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 5:30 PM – 6:00 AM)
- Caseload: Approximately 45 patients over a 24-hour period
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- On-call: No
- Floating: May assist with support between nearby facilities within scope
- Locals Accepted: No (must be outside 75-mile radius)
- Pending State License Accepted: Yes
- Time Off: One pre-approved segment of time off per contract
- First-timers: Not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- At least 2 years of recent experience within the last year as an Ultrasound Technologist
- Minimum 2 years of experience specifically in Vascular ultrasound
- Experience as a Vascular Sonographer
- Must be dual registered in Abdomen and Vascular ultrasound
- Able to work independently overnight
- Valid state license for Ultrasound Tech discipline
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months required
- Education verification of highest related degree required
- Required certifications (may include but not limited to):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Other certifications as per unit requirements
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including statewide, nationwide, and international (if applicable)
- Fingerprinting required for certain assignments
- Drug testing within 1 year, must remain valid throughout assignment
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Fit testing for N95 masks required and must be current
- Annual completion of facility-specific orientation and regulatory compliance training
- Badge photo and facility badge required prior to start
- Skills checklist and competency exams as required by unit
Additional Notes
- Must adhere to facility policies including dress code, hand hygiene, and fingernail policies
- References required (two professional references preferred, supervisors within last year ideal)
- Employment application must be completed and uploaded for facility review
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
This position is for an experienced Ultrasound Tech with vascular and abdominal ultrasound dual registration, able to work independently overnight weekend shifts in a hospital acute care setting.
