Job Description

• Work schedule: 10-hour days with variable start times
• Provide nursing care in the cardiac catheterization lab and interventional radiology settings
• Utilize knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology (EP) procedures, including equipment, accessories, surgical procedures, sterile technique, and patient care

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• Experience in Interventional Radiology
• Experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Experience in a Clinic setting
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Knowledge of electrophysiology (EP) procedures and techniques
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing requirements
• Successful completion of pass/fail testing including EKG and medication exams
• Verification of national technical certification
• NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, or AP licensure
• State license verification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications & Competencies

• Pass/Fail Telemetry and Medication exams required on first day; multiple retakes allowed
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam with passing score of 80% or higher, completed within 1 year prior to start
• Unit-specific competency exams with passing score of 80% or higher, completed within 12 months prior to start
• Core clinical training modules (Parts I, II, III) with passing scores, updated annually

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including specific county and nationwide checks
• Education verification or copy of diploma/transcript
• Primary source license verification within 30 days of start
• Drug testing (standard 9-panel excluding THC) within 30 days of start, renewed every 2 years
• Annual TB screening and questionnaire, including two negative TB tests (PPD, QuantiFERON, or Tspot) as per facility policy
• Required immunizations and titers: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption as per facility policy

Additional Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician statement of fitness to work
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific approved mask models required)
• Completion of facility-specific health questionnaires and compliance forms prior to start

Documentation & Onboarding

• Current and updated resume with last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30 days or more must be explained
• Two supervisory references required, preferably from most recent employment
• Unit-specific skills checklist, updated annually
• Photo for badge must be submitted by Monday prior to start date (color photo with neutral background)
• Completion of required facility-specific training modules and compliance documents before starting work

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Facility provides scrubs for certain units; for others, specific scrub colors apply (facility-branded scrubs optional)
• Orientation includes pass/fail exams; failure after multiple attempts may result in cancellation of assignment
