Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Annandale, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Seeking a Home Health RN with Home Care/Home Health experience who can start immediately. This role involves:

• Managing 4-6 patients per day (approximately 25-30 visits per week)
• Providing care in patients' residences, including wound care and medication administration
• Completing admissions (required)
• Participating in an on-call rotation (occasional on-call required)
• Using a tablet for same-day patient visits and charting (Kinnser/Wellsky system)
• Traveling up to 60 miles outside the home base for patient visits

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Minimum 1 year of Home Health experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience in a Home Health setting
• Experience with OASIS documentation

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender registry, and federal exclusions (updated annually)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
• COVID vaccination or approved exemption
• Facility-specific forms including mandated reporter, HIPAA compliance, and conflict of interest agreements
• Professional references (2 required)
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing

Notes

• Locals within a 50-mile radius are accepted
• Mileage reimbursement follows IRS standard but does not cover travel to first patient or return home
• On-call requirements and weekend coverage vary; discuss during interview
