Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide safe, age-appropriate patient care and serve as an advisor and resource for patients and their families. The role involves working in a surgical environment with a variety of specialties including trauma, ENT, colorectal, plastics, neurosurgery, surgical oncology, oral/dental, laparoscopic procedures, urology, ophthalmology, gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, robotics, vascular, thoracic, and more.

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of experience in ENT Surgery, including experience within the last year
Experience in the following surgical specialties:
- Colo-Rectal Surgery
- Plastic Surgery
- Neurosurgery
- Surgical Oncology
- Urology
- Ophthalmology
- OB/GYN
- Orthopedics
- Vascular Surgery
- Thoracic Surgery
- Trauma
- Oral/Dental
- Laparoscopic Procedures
- Robotics
Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP)
- STABLE certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- National Tech Cert Verification
Completion and acknowledgement of pass/fail testing including EKG and medication competency exams
Compliance with facility-specific policies and acknowledgments (e.g., hand hygiene, floating policy, time and attendance)

Skills & Competencies

Proficient in a wide range of surgical specialties and procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary patient care team
Strong clinical judgment and patient advocacy skills
Familiarity with advanced technology and minimally invasive surgical techniques

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite; PAPR training provided if needed
References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start date preferred
Employment verification required for at least 2 workplaces within the last 7 years (W2 or supervisor references accepted)

No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are accepted
