Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Evening/Night shifts
- 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
- Every other weekend and some holidays
Start Dates
- Available start dates: April 20, May 4, or May 18, 2026
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the past 3 years
- Experience with Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitoring or ventriculostomy required
- Basic Arrhythmia experience required
- Must pass Telemetry test prior to start
- Epic electronic health record experience required
Licensure & Certifications
- Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license required
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
Additional Requirements
- Prior travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Must complete and pass facility-specific Telemetry testing (Adult Telemetry Test) with remediation process if needed
- Compliance with Wisconsin state-mandated caregiver screening and background checks
- Required health documents including immunizations, TB testing, drug screening, and vaccine documentation (flu, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, etc.)
- Completion of facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., safety manual, communicable disease form)
Compliance & Documentation Highlights
- Background checks including SSN trace, nationwide, sex offender, and state-specific caregiver screening
- Education verification as applicable
- Drug screening per standards
- Annual skills checklist and medication/pharmacology competency exams
- Physical exam (per agency standard)
- Immunization and vaccine requirements with options for medical or religious exemptions
- Telemetry testing with strict passing criteria and remediation process
References & Application
- Two clinical references within the last 3 years required

This position is ideal for experienced Neuro ICU RNs with acute care and telemetry skills, who have prior travel contract experience and meet Wisconsin licensure and certification requirements.
