Job Description

• Requires 2 years of experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) / Stepdown nursing
• Every Other Week (EOW) schedule
• First-time travelers are welcome
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• 2 years of PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Tech Cert Verification - National
• State License 1 Verification
• NURSYS Verification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender, and state-specific checks within 1 year of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification required (transcripts, diplomas, or third-party verifications)
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start
• 2 professional references within the last 3 years
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search within 1 year of start

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification (annual renewal required)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Competency exam as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for certain units (Emergency, Behavioral Health, Acute Care)
• Comprehensive Crisis Management certification required annually for applicable units

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or T-Spot) within 6 months of start or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Required vaccinations or positive titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
• Tdap vaccination within the past 10 years (declination accepted with form)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination (mask required if declined during flu season)
• COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Alcohol breathalyzer test within 30 days of start (not required at some locations)

Additional Requirements

• Passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of facility-specific orientation packet and acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of facility-specific quizzes (e.g., Bloodborne Pathogen Quiz) prior to start
• Annual skills checklist required
