Radiation Therapist Travel Job - Wisconsin (Ashland)

Job Overview

• Position: Radiation Therapist (Traveler)
• Location: Ashland, Wisconsin
• Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications & Experience

• Certifications:

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Specialty Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a permanent Radiation Therapist position
  • Must have experience with SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy) and SRS (Stereotactic Radiosurgery)
  • Varian and TruBeam system experience required
  • Respiratory Gating and Surface Tracking experience preferred but not required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers are acceptable)

Job Duties & Department Info

• Imaging/Studies Performed:

  • IMRT (Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy)
  • SBRT, SRS
  • Respiratory Gating
  • Surface Tracking
  • Therapists perform their own CT simulations
• Equipment:

  • 1 Linear accelerator
  • 1 CT scanner
  • Siemens department-specific equipment
• Average Scans/Studies per Day: Approximately 15
• EMR/PACS Systems Used: Epic, Aria, PACS
• Department Structure:

  • No floating or coverage of other areas required
  • No radiologist on-site; Radiation Oncologist available
  • Lead Tech supervises department
  • No use of RRA's (Radiology Registered Assistants)
• IV Starts: Not required but considered a benefit

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Day Shift)
• No weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs; must supply own
• Orientation: Onsite, 2-3 days cross coverage with other therapists
