CVICU Travel Nurse Opportunity
Location: Prescott, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Details
- Unit: CVICU (12 beds)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 based on acuity
- Shift length: 12 hours, 7 days a week
- Weekend requirement: 2 weekend shifts per pay period (every two weeks), may include Friday or Saturday nights
- Holiday requirement: Yes
- Call/standby requirement: Yes, maximum 3 per 12 weeks
- Floating: Yes, as needed to ICU/PCU/MS/Tele on both campuses
- Dress code: Navy Blue
- Orientation: Unit/department specific
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Specialty: CVICU
- Required years of experience: More than 2 years
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Must pass dysrhythmia exam with at least 80% within two attempts before signing contract
- Candidates cannot have worked full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI and Dignity) within the past year
- If travel duo, each must have own vehicle and different schedules
Clinical Skills & Patient Care
- Common diagnoses: AMI, CAD, PVD
- Required skills: IABP, CRRT, fresh open heart surgery (OHS) experience from OR
- RNs are required to titrate drips
- Common titratable/set rate drips: Dexmedetomidine, Propofol, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Levofloxacin, Insulin, Cardene
- Impella experience desired
- Electronic Health Record: Cerner
Support & Resources
- Intensivists in-house
- Respiratory Therapy available 24/7 department-wide
- Respiratory equipment: Ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, HiFlow
- Telemetry: In-room monitors only (Nihon Kohden)
- Monitor techs: No, RNs read strips

- Radius rule: Must live within 50 miles
- No nurse aides on unit
- Charge nurse/house supervisor coverage: 24/7
