Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Lincoln, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a busy imaging department. The role involves working primarily in Nuclear Medicine with no weekends, holidays, or call required for this specialty. The position requires flexibility and a positive attitude, with willingness to collaborate across different imaging modalities when applicable.


Work Schedule

  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
  • No weekends, holidays, or call for Nuclear Medicine
  • Orientation: 1-3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation

Department & Equipment

  • Nuclear Medicine: 1 room with GE Discovery 630 Dual Head (2015) and GE PET 8 (2005)
  • Other imaging modalities in the department include MRI, CT, XR, Mammo, IR, US, and various portable units
  • EMR and PACS systems: Epic and McKesson

Job Duties

  • Perform a variety of nuclear medicine imaging studies
  • May float to other areas only if licensed in those modalities (e.g., XR/CT)
  • Flexibility to learn and work collaboratively across different imaging areas is valued

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Nuc Med) - ARRT (N) or CNMT certification
  • BLS Certification
  • Valid driver’s license at time of application
  • Must comply with department policies including no artificial nails in patient care areas

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Additional certifications such as ARRT RT(R), CT, or MR are a plus

Additional Information

  • Radiation badge provided by employer
  • Candidates must live within 50 miles of the facility and cannot currently be employed in any capacity with certain affiliated health systems
  • Fingernail policy: Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
  • Successful candidates are flexible, positive, and willing to work collaboratively beyond their primary specialty

Weekend/Call Requirements for Other Modalities (Informational)

  • MRI and US: Rotating weeknight/weekend call and holidays
  • XR/CT: Rotating schedule including weekends, holidays, and 1-3 nights of call
  • Standby requirement with 30-minute response time for call

Prior Travel Experience

  • No prior travel experience required for this position
