Physical Therapist Opportunity

Location: Canon City, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Physical Therapist license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
• Dry Needling Certification or Education only if performing dry needling

Department

• Physical Therapy (PT)

Patient Population & Common Diagnoses

• Patients with neuromuscular, orthopedic, and other physical disorders
• Care involves strengthening, modalities, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and training in activities of daily living (ADL)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Therapeutic interventions including:

  • ADL retraining
  • Patient education on home safety
  • Use of adaptive equipment and compensation techniques
  • Coordination, strengthening, and therapeutic exercise programs
  • Manual therapy and therapeutic activities
  • Aquatic therapy
  • Neuromuscular re-education as needed
• Participate in documentation, program development, teaching, and clinical skill enhancement

Experience & Skills

• Previous direct patient care experience preferred (outpatient, inpatient, or inpatient rehab)
• Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR) preferred

Scheduling & Work Hours

• Standard shifts with flexibility required before/after standard hours
• Overtime and working more than 40 hours per week may be required
• Floating to other areas or sites may be necessary
• Must be available to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and after hours
• 8-hour workdays with weekend and holiday coverage as needed

Additional Information

• Must be within a 60-mile radius for travel
• Clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if some modules are remote
