Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist to work primarily in the inpatient setting, including ICU and ER. The role involves managing fluctuating patient loads, assisting with intubations, drawing ABGs, performing EKGs, and supporting transports. The position offers a supportive environment with new equipment and friendly staff.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Typical patient load varies throughout the day, especially after initial rounds.
• ICU has 15 beds; pediatric patients are present but high-acuity neonates are vented and transported out.
• Shifts: 05:30 - 18:00 (day and night shifts)
• Scheduling: Block scheduling with some self-scheduling allowed; 12-week schedule cycles
• Staffing: 4-5 therapists on day shift, 3-4 on night shift
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: No mandatory holiday shifts, but may be asked based on staffing needs
• No call or standby call required
• Floating: Will assist throughout the hospital as needed

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC required
• ACLS and NRP certifications required
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification is a bonus but not required

Required Experience

• No specific years of experience required at this time
• Prior travel experience is not required

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage respiratory treatments including inhalers and ventilators (Puritan Bennett 980, Draeger, Phillips CPAP/BiPAP, Dream Station, V30, EV300, V60, Optiflow)
• Draw arterial blood gases (ABGs) using EPOC device (competency required)
• Perform EKGs as needed
• Assist with intubations (not required to intubate independently)
• Assist with bronchoscopies using bronch adapter
• Support patient transports with Parapack equipment
• May serve as a preceptor for other therapists
• Report critical labs promptly and maintain strict hand hygiene

Orientation & Training

• Department-specific orientation: 2 shifts

Additional Information

• Permanent address must be at least 25 miles from the facility location
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs with facility logo required
• Respiratory Manager available Monday-Friday; charge/lead therapist on every shift
