Job Opportunity: MedSurg/Tele Float RN

Location: Silverdale, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced MedSurg/Tele RN for a travel contract. The nurse will float between Med Surg, PCU, ED boarding, and temporary bed locations (TBLs).

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Tele nursing experience
• Active Washington State RN license or Compact License
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred but not required

Work Environment & Details

• Unit size: 32 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 (may increase to 6:1 during inpatient boarding)
• EMR system: Epic
• Charge nurse responsibilities: Yes
• Nurse aides available: Typically 4-5 per shift
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday shifts: Yes
• Scrub color: Professional colors and patterns (no specific color required)
• Telemetry monitors: Yes, nurses responsible for reading strips
• Drips administered: Heparin, Cardizem, Insulin (not DKA protocol), Narcotics (comfort care)
• Ventilator patients: No
• Hospitalist or intensivist on-site: Yes
• IV team support: Cross-shift SWAT team available
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• Shift length: 12 hours (Days 0700-1930, Nights 1900-0730)
• Floor-specific orientation provided (varied by unit)
• Common patient diagnoses: CHF, COPD, Cellulitis, Alcohol withdrawal, Kidney issues, Dementia, CVA
• Additional safety: Close observation through camera monitoring
