Pediatric/Neonatal Respiratory Therapist

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia

Job Summary

Provide comprehensive respiratory care for pediatric and neonatal patients primarily in the NICU or PICU. Responsibilities include managing advanced respiratory equipment and performing all aspects of respiratory therapy under supervision.

Patient Population

• Pediatric and Neonatal patients
• Work settings: NICU and PICU

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in West Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with Pediatric and Neonate patients
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Job Duties

• Perform all aspects of respiratory care including:

  • Use of aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA
  • Operation of Hamilton and Servo ventilators
  • Airway management
  • Intrahospital transport of patients

Scheduling & Work Environment

• Preference scheduling allowed with a commitment to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (weekends include Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Typically staffed with 8 respiratory therapists per shift
• No call or standby call required
• No floating required
• Dress code: Stone/light gray scrubs

Equipment Used

• Ventilators: Hamilton and Servo
• BiPAP: Respironics & Hamilton
• High Flow Nasal Cannula: Fisher Paykel

Additional Information

• Department-specific orientation provided; length depends on prior experience
• Hospitalist or intensivist available in-house
• Weekend and holiday shifts scheduled as needed
