Registered Nurse (Endoscopy) - Boise, Idaho
Job Overview
- Travel assignment for 13 weeks
- 9-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, start time between 7-8 AM
- Some call required: 1 weeknight call per week (30-minute response time), possible holiday call rotation
- No weekend call required
- Work in Endoscopy unit supporting 3 procedural suites and collaborating with main OR, CVOR, ICU, and Interventional Radiology
- Average 20-30 cases per day
- Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
Responsibilities
- Float between Pre-op, Intra-op, and Post-op/PACU areas within Endoscopy
- Provide moderate sedation including administration of propofol (general sedation patients stay in PACU)
- Assist with procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, foreign body removal, ERCP with stent placement/removal, pancreatic biopsy, lung biopsy, and spy glass procedures
- Collaborate with CRNAs and anesthesia providers for general and MAC sedation
- May occasionally float to nearby sister facilities or serve as a sitter (rare)
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient hospital endoscopy experience (no first-time travelers)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Comfortable with sedation and propofol administration
- Pediatric experience preferred but not mandatory
- Scrub experience is a plus but not required
Team and Support
- Charge nurses present for Pre-op/Post-op and main unit
- Lead Endoscopy Technician on main unit
- 2 CNAs assist with patient care and clerical duties in Pre/Post areas
- RNs administer moderate sedation; CRNAs/anesthesia handle general and MAC sedation
Orientation and Training
- 3-4 shifts of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor
Additional Information
- Facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for candidates’ permanent address eligibility
- Dress code and scrub color provided by the hospital

L&D Unit is Traveler friendly for CST roll as well as RN roll. Work load is very manageable. Great staff support.
Cons
Unit can be very busy with high volumes of deliveries.
