Assignment Details

• 13-week contract
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Unit: Med/Surg
• 28 beds
• Ratios: 1:5-6

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS certification
• Driver’s license required at submittal
• Must be able to care for a wide variety of patients
• Willingness to teach (precept) and learn
• Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a 90% score or higher

Preferred

• Charge nurse/house supervisor experience is a plus

Unit Details

• Common patient types include cardiology, surgical oncology, urology, and complex general med surg patients
• Telemetry is used on the unit
• Centralized monitoring techs are present
• RN must be able to read basic strips
• Common titratable/set-rate drip: IVF
• Respiratory equipment includes nasal cannula, <6L if acute, and trach collar

Scheduling

• Self-scheduling
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating based on skill level

Orientation

• 1-2 days of orientation
• 12-hour nights during unit orientation

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs

Additional Notes

• Radius rule: candidates must live more than 50 miles away
• Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
