Unit Details

Unit MedSurg- AC3
9 beds on Ortho
13 beds in Inpatient Rehab
If MedSurg census does not support, the nurse may be assigned IRF patients
Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 on MedSurg and 1:6 on IRF
Charge nurse is present on both units each shift and takes patient assignments
PCT support is assigned on nights
Tele patients are taken, with off-site monitor techs

Required Qualifications

BLS
RN license
Telemetry experience
IVs
Foley catheters
Dressing changes

Preferred Qualifications

Ortho experience

Schedule

Nights, 12-hour shifts
Every other weekend required
No self-scheduling

Floating

May float only to another MedSurg unit with similar staffing ratios

Orientation

3 days of classroom orientation
2 precepted shifts on the floor

Additional Notes

RT handles neb treatments and CPAP setup
Navy blue scrubs required; not provided
