Overview

• Location: Freeport, Illinois
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
• Hours: 36 per week
• Department: Telemetry | RN
• Unit size: 18 beds

Required Qualifications

• Illinois RN license required to submit
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• 2+ years of recent experience
• Must have drip experience

Preferred

• Cath Lab post recovery experience (femoral/radial)
• Stroke care experience
• Phlebotomy
• Meditech familiarity

Clinical Details

• Common diagnoses include stroke, CHF, ACS, CAD, post heart cath patients, and arrhythmias
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 4-5 days, 5-6 nights
• Telemetry is on the unit; monitor tech handles central telemetry and RNs sign off on strips
• Common titratable drips include Cardizem, Amio, Dopamine, and Heparin
• RT/equipment on the unit includes BiPAP and High Flow

Scheduling

• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• Call/standby is not required for agency staff

Floating

• May float to ICU, MS, and ER to take patients within scope
• ER boarders may be included

Orientation

• 2 department-specific orientation shifts, 12 hours each

• Previous employment at any FHN Memorial location must be disclosed for a DNU check
