Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

• Days
• Monday–Friday
• 4 ten-hour shifts
• Variable start times between 0630–0730
• If only able to assist with GI procedures, Wednesdays off

Unit

• Endoscopy.GI Lab
• 1 suite

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Gastroenterology experience with at least 2 years of experience
• Gastroenterology experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS
• Moderate sedation administration with at least 2 years of experience, with last administration no more than 6 months prior
• IV start experience
• Telemetry monitoring proficiency (3 lead EKG monitoring)

Preferred

• Endoscopy and outpatient urology procedural experience
• No more than 6 months since last moderate sedation administration

Duties

• Pre-procedure admission, including patient assessment and history taking
• Intra-procedure moderate sedation administration and patient assessment with ability to intervene in an emergency
• Post-procedure recovery

Common Cases

• EGD
• Colonoscopy
• Flexible sigmoidoscopy

Additional Details

• 4 RNs scheduled per procedure day
• Up to 15 patients per day
• May be asked to help at Bellevue or Seattle locations during significant call-out situations
• Procedural scrubs are provided by the ASC
• General Ambulatory Orientation followed by orientation with a preceptor on the floor
• GI procedures run 4 days per week; urology procedures 3 Wednesdays per month; Pain Management procedures every Friday
• GI skill set is most important
