Overview

• ICU RNs needed in West Virginia.
• Unit: ICU
• Specialty/unit details: MICU / NEURO ICU
• Bed count: Neuro 20
• Shift: Nights, 7pm–7am
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts plus 1 Friday and 1 Monday per 4-week schedule
• Holiday requirement: As scheduled

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• ICU experience
• Critical care experience
• Must be able to titrate drips
• Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
• Previous perm candidates must have been gone for 2 years
• Previous travelers there for 1 full year must have been gone for 2 years

Unit Details

• Ratios: 2:1
• Common patient types: stroke, dialysis, head bleeds, ventric/EVD, neuro disorders requiring critical care
• Drips used on the unit: Levophed, phenylpherine, versed, paralytics, heparin, insulin, nicardipine, vaso
• Charge nurse: Free charge nurse, not in staffing
• Nurse aids: Yes, ratio 10:1
• Intensivist coverage: Daytime in house, on call at night, with 24/7 APP coverage
• RT coverage: 24/7
• Respiratory equipment: vents, bipap, high flow, nasal canula
• Telemetry: Yes; not on unit, observed from another floor
• Monitor techs: No
• RNs read strips: No

Submission Notes

• Can only submit to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system
• Travel teams must be submitted together in 1 email
• Up to 2 candidates per opening
• COVID vaccine required; exemptions may be requested for medical or religious reasons
