Job Description

• Work in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting
• Provide nursing care in MedSurg and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) areas
• Must be experienced in all areas and willing to flex between departments as needed
• WA nursing license must be ACTIVE

Responsibilities

• Identify patient and significant others' needs for education and provide appropriate education
• Ensure patient safety through preventative measures (side rails, restraints, safe equipment use) and follow restraint policies correctly
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation and troubleshooting of equipment in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures with proper documentation
• Utilize standard precautions at all times
• Maintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during shifts
• Accurately document charge and complete physician orders timely, including 24-hour order checks if within shift duties
• Provide thorough change of shift reports to oncoming staff
• Communicate effectively with other departments
• Report critical lab values to physicians promptly according to policy
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, rooms, and general supplies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Licensure

• Active Washington State RN license required
